Alt Rock Bands To Tour Canada

There are several great alternative rock bands that are set to play throughout Canada in 2018. The Cult will be bringing their own brand of wildness to the stage this year. The UK based band was formed in 1983 and are famous for their single She Sells Sanctuary. The track rose to public attention when it was featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Their single Rain is also a fan favourite. It has been used in a plethora of media, including the Italian horror film Demons 2. Both of these songs are the highlight of the Cults live shows. Lead singer Ian Astbury is well known for his use of the tambourine during these performances. Concert goers may even be lucky enough to catch them when he throws them into the crowd.

Punk rockers Suicidal Tendencies are also playing in Canada this year. Their work is unique for the complex long lyrics and rambling nature of the lead vocals. Their songs have elements of thrash metal and skate punk. They are heavily influenced by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols.

The band scored a hit with their song Institutionalised. The single was given extensive coverage on MTV in the mid 1980s. It was also featured in the film Repo Man starring Emilio Estevez. Over the years the sound of the band has changed into a more funk heavy style. Their live shows often contain hits from both their old and newer eras.

Evanescence are also touring in this country. The Gothic metal band rose to prominence in the early 2000s. They have amassed a large fan base and are set to be one of the highlights of the year when it comes to gigs. This is one show that is well worth keeping in your calendar.
